Thalassophobia

#Cookiecutter shark is one of the most interesting sharks in the ocean. The name cookiecutter comes from the cookie-shaped bite wounds they leave on their prey. They are also known as ‘cigar’ sharks because of their elongated, cigar-shaped body. Cookiecutter sharks are deep water species and they have really creepy looking with very large eyes and a round-shaped snout. As the prey approaches, the cookiecutter shark quickly latches on to them with its smaller top teeth while cutting the flesh with its large bottom teeth. The shark then turning its body to rip the flesh from its prey, leaving a distinctive crater-like, smooth-edged wound on the victim’s body. Cookiecutter shark is a parasite, they don’t actually kill their prey. They only take bites off of them in the same way that a parasite would do.
