A NIGHT IN TUNISIA in one take

Ah, yes - Dizzy Gillespie wrote the tune “A Night In Tunisia“ in the early 1940s and it has been played the world over ever since. Mixing Afro-Cuban rhythms with the Bebop musical vocabulary (that Gillespie himself largely codified), this tune is an absolute MUST for all musicians. Oh, and hey! The audiences like it too! That’s not something jazz musicians always consider (I do)... So - I recorded the vibes part first, and then I overdubbed the piano part, as always both with one take only. PERFECTION IS THE ENEMY! Thankfully, you won’t find it here. I hope you enjoy! Please subscribe for more vibraphone videos every week. -Tim
