Hundreds rally against police violence during Modi protests in Bangladesh

Hundreds of protesters blocked the Dhaka-Chittagong highway on Sunday, in a strike against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the deaths of people during the protests that erupted in violence on Friday. At least five people were killed and dozens injured in police gunfire in eastern Bangladesh on Saturday, a hospital doctor said, as security forces tried to quell protests against Modi’s visit. On Friday, four people were shot and killed in protests. “Our only protest was against the visit of Narendra Modi because he a killer of Muslims so he has no right to come a country of Muslims,“ One protester said.
