I utterly adore this game. I always have. It’s far more progressive than most the games that were arriving on the market around the time this was release. Imagine the The Battle of Olympus and the side-scrolling bits of Zelda II together, and replacing the awkward, stilted controls of those games with a really responsive and far more forgiving system. It work’s out quite well.
And, really, who can ever forget the time they saw that blood-colored sky with the sun setting in the first scene? Super iconic. And that soundtrack? Oh yeah.
