Baseball star Babe Ruth stands on a float, tossing autographed cards to people in the crowd. The motorcade moves into the fairground of Flushing Meadows, where city and fair officials Mayor La Guardia and Grover Whalen stand before some microphones. A float carrying a replica of the Trylon and Perisphere (the symbols of the fair) moves past the crowds gathered here.
