Royal “Nerve“ (1930)

Full title reads: “Richmond. Royal ’Nerve’, undeterred by cameras or crowds. Duke of York hits mighty drive of 200 yards inaugurating new public course. Richmond, Surrey. M/S as a man hands Prince Albert a golf bag, he nods and takes his hat off to the crowd who applaud. The Prince walks along with his golf club and gets instructions from another man who puts the ball on the tee. The Prince prepares by swinging the club a few times then plays his shot, everyone claps. Intertitle - ’Lucky caddy receives a sovereign for retrieving the ball.’ The caddy brings the ball back to the Prince who thanks him and gives him a coin. He smiles and the crowds around him clap. He talks to a man at the side. N.B. This item appears to have been misfiled in 30/35 in place of one called “Royal Golfer’s Ordeal“ featuring the Duke of York playing himself in at St Andrew’s.
