No Hands (1963)

Crowthorne, Berkshire. A story about the work carried out by the Road Research Laboratory. We see a man in a car driving along he takes his hands off the wheel and picks up a newspaper, we are told the car is steering itself by following radar gadgets on the road, this experiment is being filmed by the Laboratory people. There are various shots of cameras filming. We see instruments being fitted to a car to determine what happens when it crashes. The test involves the car being driven by its own power and steered by remote control from another vehicle. Various shots as the dummies are strapped in to the car and a shot of a camera in the back. We see the crash taking place and various people filming it, then it is repeated in slow motion. Various shots of the wrecked car and the dummies inside, people write down the results.
