Вторая была построена на руинах терм Диоклетиана в 16-м веке, предположительно, по проекту Микеланджело. / The video covers two of Rome’s churches, Santa Maria Maggiore and Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri. The first one - the Basilica of Saint Mary Major - is a Papal basilica. It was one of the first churches built in honour of the Virgin Mary in the fifth century. The second one - the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and the Martyrs - was constructed on the ruins of the ancient Roman baths of Diocletian in the 16th century, presumably following Michelangelo Buonarotti’s design.
