An attempt at making a third Soft Machine album in the style of their first two, mixing both the more whimsical pop songwriting of Robert Wyatt and Kevin Ayers with the more serious instrumental jazz composition and soloing of Mike Ratledge, Hugh Hopper and Elton Dean. Inspired by rael nyc’s own re-imagined albums, Julian Cope’s Head Heritage review of their early work and the Soft Machine Rigmarole blog and their album reconstructions and re-imaginings.
