This extremely rare variant of the M14 was made by Smith Enterprise. The original design was from Lafrance, who then sold the rights to Smith. The CIA then employed Smith to make these M14K’s for use in South America to which they were used to great success. They were so successful that FARC sent Hitmen to assassinate Mr. Smith. The CIA couldn’t guarantee the protection of Mr. Smith and so the rifles ceased production. The Smuggler who was taking the rifles to South America stole two of these rifles, ones in a museum, ones in this video, the rest have been destroyed.
