Hundreds hold candlelight vigil in Seoul, protesting against release of radioactive Fukushima water into the ocean

Hundreds of protesters gathered for a candlelit protest in front of the National Assembly in Seoul to decry the Japanese government’s decision to release water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean. The government earlier announced that the discharge of over a million metric tons of treated radioactive waste water would begin on August 24.
