Great German arias by Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner, von Weber and Lehár | Jonas Kaufmann (tenor)
One of Germany’s most renowned tenors, Jonas Kaufmann, presents an evening of famous German operatic arias. Amongst them: ‘Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön’ from W. A. Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’; ‘In fernem Land’ from ‘Lohengrin’, and ‘Winterstürme’ from ‘Die Walküre’ – both by Richard Wagner; as well as pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven (‘Fidelio’), Carl Maria von Weber (‘Der Freischütz’), and Franz Lehár (‘Giuditta’). The repertoire serves as a return to Kaufmann’s roots – “I grew up with this music, it’s embedded in my genes.“
Enjoy an evening of arias sung by Jonas Kaufmann and accompanied by the Munich Radio Orchestra, in a 2010 concert conducted by Michael Güttler.
