Why we have to fight for the freedom of Palestinian prisoners, with Hatem Abudayyeh

With no end in sight to the suffering and horror, public pressure on the governments that aid and abet the Israeli genocide, particularly the United States, is essential. Today we will welcome Hatem Abudayyeh back to the program. He is national chair of the US Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), a leading force in mobilizing Palestinians and allies across the country to protest US suppport for the Israeli genocide. We spoke to Hatem last month, on the eve of the Democratic National Convention, when he served as spokesperson for the March on the DNC Coalition. We will talk to Hatem about where the protest movement goes next, and the struggle of Palestinians detained in Israel’s prisons and torture camps. This is a segment from The Electronic Intifada’s day 334 livestream. Ali Abunimah, Nora Barrows-Friedman, Jon Elmer and Asa Winstanley were joined by contributor Abubaker Abed from the Gaza Strip, and Hatem Abudayyeh, the national chair of the US Palestinian Community Network.
