Feeling of ’desperation and fear’ for interpreters in Afghanistan

An Australian veteran who served in Afghanistan from 2012-2013 is desperately fighting for his interpreter and many others amid the Taliban searching for anyone who served with Australia and its allies. Veteran Jason Scanes says there is an “absolute feeling of desperation and fear” for interpreters. “There is an absolute feeling of desperation and fear for those interpreters that are on the ground at the moment,” he told Sky News Australia.
