Tapioca is a Brussels-based, Brazil-inspired duo composed of rapper/lyricist Le Tagarel and producer/composer SiKa. The duo draw inspiration from rap, jazz, MPB, funk & most importantly the Brazilian Culture and its musical fusions. They present their LP “Voyage” set to release March 25th via Jakarta Records’ “Dubplates” Series. The album - made during Covid - is an ode to freedom and ranges from ’Dillaesque’ hip-hop to soul and jazz. Tapioca refers to the white pearls and flour that come from the roots of cassava, an emblematic ingredient of Brazilian cuisine. While making Voyage, the duo wanted to make this culinary specialty - which unites the Portuguese world, from Africa and Europe to South America - the key element that symbolizes their musical universe.
