In the 1940s “soundies“ -- short music films -- were very popular. This one was marketed to families with home 16mm film projectors and distributed by Official Films. Tracks include “Dreams of Old Hawaii“ with the Aloha Islanders and Lani McIntire and his orchestra (:14), “Wiggles“ featuring Napua Wood (3:12), and the “Hawaiian War Chant“ starring Princess Momakai and the Hawaiian Ensemble (recorded 1942). Each production includes painted sets and plenty of hula skirt dancers. Napua Wood, incidentally, was born in Hawaii and worked as a Hollywood actress, appearing in the show Hawaiian Eye in 1959 and Family Affair in 1970. Lani McIntire was a Hawaiian guitar and steel guitar player who helped to popularize the instrument. His brothers were steel guitar legend Dick McIntire and bassist Al McInt
