On this day in 1944, the German battleship Tirpitz sank. Here is a British Movietone report with highlights of the life and destruction of the Tirpitz.
The mighty German battleship which had been hiding out in various Norwegian fjords is no longer operational. The Royal Navy had crippled the ship with their mini-submarines and the RAF finished the job on the 12th November.
