With a prolificacy that is more than matched by his impeccable attention to production detail, James’ nuanced and transportive music continues to charm fans from all corners of the esoteric underground. With releases under his belt for the likes of NuNorthern Soul, Sprechen, Quattro and Music For Swimming Pools, the decision to launch his own imprint allows him the opportunity to freely explore the far-reaching realms of downtempo, electronica, nu-disco, deep house and more. Following on from the label’s last outing “TRICKS EP”, he subtly switches pace from seductively languid territory to Sun streaked rhythms and shimmering electronica. The Title track “The Garden of sound” sets the pace with soulful chords, rolling percussive rhythms and dramatic strings. Next “Hands Together” further raises the tempo with a hot, Latin percussive pulse, fizzy electronics and a throbbing bassline. Things start to slow down a little with the third track “Ricochet” A groovy, mid-tempo, chugger. With Stabby synths and a choppy vocal playing over a subtle, hypnotic acid line. The last song “How High?” starts off with an infectious synth line, building to a solid head nodding, foot tapping groove. With cool keys, a fat bass line and percussion that sounds like ice cubes rattling in a cocktail shaker. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Berlin House Music Submit Your Music | Store | Instagram | YouTube | Facebook | SoundCloud |
