Malagueña - Pink Martini | Live from Portland 2005
Pink Martini is on tour in 2022! Tickets are on sale now at:
Excerpted from Pink Martini’s concert DVD release “Discover the World,“ this performance was filmed live in concert at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland Oregon on December 31, 2005. “Malagueña,“ by the great Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona, has long been a concert staple for Pink Martini. This version was arranged by bandleader Thomas Lauderdale, and features Thomas on the piano, along with Robert Taylor on the trombone. The song often opens Pink Martini concerts on tour, and has never been recorded in the studio by the band, though another composition by Lecuona, “Andalucia“, was featured on Pink Martini’s debut album “Sympathique.“
