What Happens To Leftover Food When Filming The Pioneer Woman?

People waste a lot of food. The UN’s Food Waste Index Report 2021 estimates that 17 percent of all food meant for people’s mouths ends up in the trash. Roni Neff, a professor and program director at Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Center for a Livable Future, told Johns Hopkins Magazine that “foodie culture fostered by celebrity chefs and cooking programs that has convinced many to seek only perfect, unblemished food.“ But not all TV chefs are like that. Ree Drummond, host of The Pioneer Woman, has a process for avoiding food waste. In 2018, an entire episode of The Pioneer Woman was dedicated to transforming leftovers and scraps into new dishes.
