Well, it turns out that sometimes they don’t work as they were supposed to - many today claim that EU sanctions against Russia are failing. In my opinion, several examples of EU sanctions actually help Putin more than inconvenience him, and more often than not the decisions and statements made by Western politicians basically feed right into Russian propaganda about how THE WEST WANTS TO DESTROY RUSSIA.
