This is time lapse video of a tobacco seed germinating. Tobacco seeds are extremely small, so this video was created with a microscope. It shows the seed coat break open, the radical grow and produce root hairs, and the cotyledons emerge from the seedcoat.
The focal depth of a microscope is narrow, so different parts are in focus as different times. By the end of the video, the kimwipe background is beginning to dry out
