Russia: US missile defense deployment in S. Korea will escalate tensions

The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that the US plan to deploy an advanced missile defense system in South Korea can trigger an arms race in northeast Asia. The US and South Korea have begun negotiations on the deployment of the THAAD system after Pyongyang’s rocket launch on Sunday.
