Realistic Lighting using Adaptive Probe Volume in URP - Unity 6 Preview

In this video, I’ll show you Unity 6 new feature called Adaptive Probe Volume (APV) within the Universal Render Pipeline (URP) to achieve high-quality global illumination. Adaptive Probe Volumes are supposed to be a replacement for the old legacy light probes. However, Adaptive Probe Volume is still in experimental state, therefore there might still be bugs and errors. One main feature that i like about Adaptive Probe Volume is that it applies per-pixel lighting on dynamic objects. Other than that, bake time for APV is much more faster. The first few scenes only took around 2 minutes bake time per scenario and it was baked using a gtx 960m (Laptop GPU). That is just insane. Adaptive Probe Volume is also used in Unity Tech Demo called “Enemies“. If you are interested in a more in-depth guide, please let me know in the comments! I am planning to make a much more detailed guide video on APV. Support my content: Patreon: Join our community
