Gautier Capuçon plays J.S. Bach: Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major, BWV 1007: I. Prelude
Souvenirs by Gautier Capuçon features some of the most memorable moments of his discography and new recordings, among them J.S. Bach’s iconic Cello Suite No. 1. The triple album celebrates his 40th birthday, bringing with it 35 years as a musician and 20 years as a recording artist. Discover here:
“To mark this birthday, I have chosen a selection of works for solo cello by Johann Sebastian Bach, Henri Dutilleux and Zoltán Kodály, pieces that I have played many times and that have always inspired me, as well as a work by Javier Martínez Campos as an encore. This young Spanish composer and cellist dedicated the piece to me, drawing on a perfume based on the scents of the Orient as his inspiration. This collection also includes some of my happiest musical memories over the past 20 years, on stage and in the studio, which I have carefully chosen for you.“ – Gautier Capuçon
