Robert Carlyle In Conversation

Belfast Film Festival was delighted to welcome one of the UK’s most talented actors to take part in a discussion on his life and work with Brian Henry Martin in 2019. Robert Carlyle is a BAFTA winning, Emmy nominated actor from Scotland. Born in 1961 he left school at 16 without qualifications working as a painter and decorator during the day and continuing his education at night. He became involved in drama after reading The Crucible and went on to attend and graduate from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He has an impressive body of work already behind him, starring in The Full Monty, Summer, Trainspotting, Human Trafficking, as a Bond villain in The World Is Not Enough and Angela’s Ashes to name a few. He’s been more recently seen on TV in Once Upon A Time and in the 2018 BBC adaptation of War Of The Worlds.
