If you decide to take the new MacBook Pro along with 32GB of RAM, then pay extra $200 for the M1 Max (24 Core GPU). It will be a good investment and you will get 60% more powerful GPU and it will be more future proof. Just for extra $200. 2. If your job is based on software that depends on CPU performance, there is no point to taking the M1 Max.
