Cobra, developed and published by ocean for the Commodore 64 in 1986. Also appeared on the zx spectrum. Features Ocean Loader v2 music by Martin Galway.
“Stallone Cobra - Crime is the disease. He’s the cure. The Cobra Strikes! As vigilante cop, Marion Cobretti of the ‘Zombie Squad’, you must rescue top fashion model Ingrid Knutsen from the army of psychotic killers and the evil clutches of ‘The Night Slashers’. This is where the law stops … and you start”
Cobra is another tragic game. The platforming is not much fun and the game as a whole seems nonsensical, even more so than the Spectrum version! Maybe it was acceptable in 1986, but it certainly hasn’t held up to scrutiny now. Back then for me, it was loaded up just for the music!
Based on the 1986 Stalone movie of the same name, the idea is to guide Cobra through the various levels killing bad guys and rescuing Ingrid the model.
The longplay shows the Loader screen with version 2 of the loader music
