Opeth - Closure - live in Malmö, February 18th 2009 (UNRELEASED)
#damnation20 part 5: CLOSURE.
As many of you know, Opeth’s live performances of Closure significantly vary from the album version on Damnation. The loose approach they took to the interlude in particular allowed the band to jam on stage and make extensive use of their ability to improvise.
What we heard on Lamentations is one version of this live improvisation - but the Watershed lineup took this a step further. This recording is a great example of the latter - taken from Opeth’s show in Malmö on February 18th, 2009.
Enjoy this outstanding performance with unrivalled audio taken straight from the soundboard.
Finally, the accompanying painting is called “Fairy Tale of Kings,“ and was created by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1909).
Mikael Åkerfeldt - vocals and guitar
Fredrik Åkesson - guitar
Per Wiberg - keys and vocals
Martin Mendez - bass
Martin Axenrot - drums
