The Aftermath of the Black Mesa Incident

On the morning of Tuesday, December the 5th, 2000, one of the world’s most secretive and well-funded research facilities was the scene of the world’s first ever catastrophic resonance cascade, a quantum event that, upon its initiation, would unleash a series of unstoppable events that would lead to the inevitable deaths of millions. The quantum event that was unleashed at the Black Mesa Research Facility tore through the fabric of a dimensional rift that sent forth an unstoppable force of hostile and invasive creatures that turned one of the most reliable research institutions in the United States to a devastating war zone between the hostile and invasive creatures, the American government, and remaining Black Mesa personnel. In the days and weeks after the disaster, the tragic events that unfolded that Tuesday morning devastated not only Black Mesa, but the world, after the resonance cascade expanded in severity and unleashed deadly “portal“ storms that would kill millions worldwide. The global “portal“ storm that erupted as a direct consequence of the resonance cascade, initially declared by climatologists worldwide as a unforeseen catastrophic meteorological event, brought a series of species of hostile creatures from the border world Xen to Earth, forcing the United Nations and the world’s governments to provide protection to the surviving global population in the world’s major cities.
