Escape from North Korea is a scifi comedy filmed as a homage to 80’s action films. Funded through Kickstarter, it was filmed over the course of three years and completed with a skeleton crew to stay within budget. Almost the entire film was shot against a 9’x10’ green screen. In a distant 1980’s future, America’s Last Ninja must save the First Daughter of the United States from the Supreme Leader of Neo-North Korea. It throws every 80’s pop culture icon at you from ninjas, nazi’s, lasers, kung fu, giant robots, and off-world excursions.
