Here we will compare two pairs of acoustic guitar strings side by side so you can hear the difference. Each demonstration is carefully mic’d the same exact way in a controlled environment with a stereo pair of mik-tek c5 cardioid condenser microphones spaced at the 14th fret of the guitar. I am using a Taylor 812ce acoustic guitar for each example. No EQ or compression is added. The guitar tracks are absolutely clean. However, I did normalize each audio example but this only raises the volume relative to the loudest section of the example. So, the adjustment is uniform and relative.
