I wrote this song towards the end of my time on AGT. I’ve never felt more like a pawn on a chessboard than during this show. It reminded me just how cruel the industry can be and also made me incredibly grateful that I have had such a long successful career while somehow avoiding showbiz antics. And it was during this process that I knew without a doubt that no matter what I’ve been through, what I still have to go through, the music makes it all worth it.
