Why wasn’t John Paul Jones invited to take a part of Led Zeppelin’s reunion

Why didn’t they invite John Paul Jones for the Page - Plant “Reunion“ Jimmy Page pushed for a reunion for years. Plant has said the reason he could play with Page but not Jones was because him and Jimmy could make something that didn’t sound or feel like a Led Zeppelin project, But the instant that JPJ joined in it immediately felt like a Zeppelin project, And it was too hard for him.
