Bigfin squids are believed to belong to the Magnapinnidae family (genus: Magnapinna) which has been described using only immature, non adult specimens. However, this is just a hypothesis as researchers have yet to capture a bigfin squid! These gigantic creatures have only been observed from deep sea video footage!
