London’s SWISS GLOCKENSPIEL - Bells Chime at Leicester Square

4K 24FPS & BINAURAL first-person perspective London walk tour at the Swiss Glockenspiel on Swiss Court by Leicester Square, which is a large carillon clock atop a 10 metre (33 ft) high totem, composed of 27 bells, four Swiss Jacomas representing bell ringers, two clock faces and Swiss moving figures against a traditional Swiss alpine backdrop. The bells chime for five minute every day (12pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm and 8pm), plus additional performances Sat, Sun and public holidays (2pm, 3pm and 4pm). The original clock was installed on Leicester Square’s Swiss Centre in 1985 as a gift from Switzerland Tourism, but the centre was demolished in 2008, replaced by a W Hotel and M&M’s World London. In 2011 by the site of the former Swiss Centre, the new Swiss Glockenspiel was erected, it was created by Smith of Derby and features the original bells, Jacomas and processional figures - which were fully restored by Swiss craftsmen and experts. A couple of metres behind the Swiss Glockenspiel stands a second totem, also created by Smith of Derby, this one featuring the Swiss Confederation’s 26 canton (state) flags, which also used to feature on the Swiss Centre.
