Vladimir Atlantov was born in St. Petersburg in 1939 in family of opera singers. Graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory. 1962-66 soloist of Mariinsky Theatre. 1967-88 soloist of Bolshoi. 1964-65 he studied at the Academy of Young Singers at La Scala. First Prize at III International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1966. Among the best parts: Hermann, Don Jose, Otello, Cavaradossi, Sadko, Canio. 1989-96 Atlantov has successfully performed at The Vienna State Opera, Met and other famous theatres of the world. Vladimir Atlantov is People’s artist of the USSR(1976), Kammerzinger of the Vienna State Opera(1987). Wife - Tamara Milashkina, great soprano of Bolshoi. Daughter - Lada, pianist. Now he live in Vienna.
