Channel migrants enter UK with guns

A scathing report by the border watchdog has found that some channel migrants are entering the UK armed with ’guns’ and ’pocket knives.’ These were then confiscated on arrival in Dover. David Neal, the chief inspector of borders and immigration, called out the Home Office’s “systematic failure” to register migrants’ biometric data. In six months, 227 people who were not fully registered fled “secure” hotels. The report stated: “Officers removed and placed weapons in a sharps bucket in the search area. Officers said that migrants sometimes had pocket knives, but not often, and that guns had been encountered, though rarely.” Former Brexit party MEP Ben Habib criticised the Home Office’s response to the migrant crisis. “You wouldn’t have to worry about them brining guns if they weren’t allowed to cross into our territorial waters in the first place.“ The Home Office said: “We have accepted all the report’s recommendations.” #talktv #
