Spanish Catalan soprano Montserrat Caballé singing the cabaletta Di Tanti Palpiti from Gioachino Rossini’s famous 1813 two act opera Tancredi. The libretto by Gaetano Rossi is based on Voltaire’s 1759 play Tancrède. Tancredi is basically a coloratura contralto role popularised by artists such as Marilyn Horne and Ewa Podleś but this particular aria has been sung by sopranos like Caballé and Katia Ricciarelli too. In this 1988 TVE telecast, the singer is accompanied by Miguel Zanetti on piano.
