Politicians who back ’Israel’s civilian killings’ could go jail | ICJP Explains

ayab Ali is a solicitor advocate and a partner at Bindmans LLP. He is also the director of the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians. In this clip, he explains to Middle East Eye how western leaders can be held accountable for their role in aiding and abetting Israeli war crimes. In 2009, he successfully applied for a UK court to issue an arrest warrant for Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni following the brutal Operation Cast Lead, which killed more than 1000 Palestinians in Gaza. Israel’s war in Gaza has killed more than 19,000 people, including over 7000 children. In response, Ali and his team published a public letter to British politicians, informing them of their intent to prosecute any lawmakers “aiding and abetting war crimes in Gaza”. #ICJP #Israel #Gaza #Palestine #War #UK #USA #JoeBiden #RishiSunak #KeirStarmer #Politics #EU #WarCrimes #InternationalLaw
