How China was made / History of ancient China / Imperator: Rome

The Chinese civilization is probably the longest-lived of modern civilizations, second generally, perhaps, only to Egyptian, and maybe Sumerian ones - it has existed since 2000 BCE. And although during this huge period of time Chinese culture and statehood were changing, the basic principles, pillars, thanks to which the Chinese Empire was created, and on which China can be said to stand to this day, were formed before the Common Era, just by the time of the creation of the empire. What are these pillars? How and when were they formed? In this video through the history of ancient China I will try to explain how and why China became China, and what China is, as well as try to repeat the history of its creation using the game Imperator: Rome with the mod Terra-Indomita. Terra Indomita: 00:00 - Introduction 01:40 - Fall of Shang and rise of Zhou 04:59 - Mandate of Heaven 09:45 - Decline of Zhou 14:20 - Qin and legalism 21:09 - Rise of Qin 26:14 - Qin’s wars of unification 29:38 - Reforms of China’s first emperor 34:45 - The tyranny of the emperor 37:33 - Fall of Qin 39:07 - Rise of Han and of Confucianism 45:37 - Conclusion
