What’s this? PB getting in on a meme before it’s super old and outdated? Hollyleaf is probably my favorite warrior cats character, second only to Jingo. She’s a great example of how the code, at least as it was in her time, is broken at its core. She is a cat who believes wholeheartedly in the code and just wants to be a good warrior. And yet as a half-clan cat she can never be good at all, let alone good enough. It doesn’t matter how hard she works or what she does: her very existence is against the code. Her spiral of grief and anger as she grapples with this is some of the most effective character writing in the Warrior Cats series, I think. I love her a lot. Tried a somewhat shapier and simpler style here for ease of animating and I really like it! ORIGINAL:
