1931 Blues 78 rpm The Two Poor Boys (Joe Evans & Arthur McClain) - John Henry Blues

Sorry for taking so long with a new post. My second child a beautiful daughter was born a good 3 months ago so I’ve been pretty busy. But I’m back with one of the most versatile groups of the late 20’s and early 30’s Joe Evans and Arthur McClain better known as The Two Poor Boys. The two men played all the instruments on their recordings: Guitar, Mandolin, Piano, Kazoo, Violin and great (duet) singing. And recorded in many different musical styles, from Barrelhouse piano Blues to Hillbilly tunes to Country Blues and String band recordings. There has been some debate about the skin color of the two men (not that it matters much) but I for one belief they where African-American. Evans and McClain are belived to be for East Tennessee.
