Cold Blood, from the San Francisco area, was one of the first horn driven funk rock groups of the late 60s and early 70s. Their vocalist Lydia Pense has been compared to Janis Joplin. Other original band members were founder Larry Field (lead guitar), the horn section consisted of Danny Hull, Larry Jonutz, Pat O’Hara, Jerry Jonutz and David Padron. Raul Matute (keyboards and songwriter), Rod Ellicott (bass), and Frank Davis (drums).
