Alessandro Chiantoni was born in Alzano Lombardo (BG, Italy) on 19 November 1996.
He studied Pianoforte at the Conservatory “G. Donizetti” of Bergamo and in the same conservatory he graduated with full marks in Organ and Organ Composition.
As a soloist pianist he performed for associations, music festivals and for the Conservatory of Bergamo he took part in several initiatives, including concerts at the birthplace of Gaetano Donizetti, dealing with both the solo and chamber repertoire for four hands. He performed at the International Piano Festival of Bergamo and Brescia, taking part in the complete performance of Beethoven’s thirty-two piano sonatas.
He is the titular organist of St. Anne’s Church in Bergamo. He began his career as an organist performing for FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano, the Conservatory “G. Donizetti of Bergamo” and for associations and music festivals in Italy and abroad. On the occasion of the third edition of the international composition competition “Vittorio Fellegara” he was invited to perform at the closing concert held in Bergamo in the prestigious “Alfredo Piatti” hall. In memory of the great French organist and composer Jean Guillou, he was invited to play at the Villasanta International Organ Festival on the great Bonato organ in the church of S. Anastasia.
He has performed on many prestigious instruments including the great Cavaillé-Coll organ of the Abbey Church of Saint-Ouen in Rouen and the great Cavaillé-Coll organ of the Eglise Saint-Godard in the same city, the great organ of the Cathedral of Merano (BZ), the great organs of the Cathedral of St. Alexander the Martyr in Bergamo, the great organ of the Church of St. Agnes in Modena and other prestigious instruments in Europe.
In 2021 he won the first prize of the “Rotary Club Bergamo Città Alta”.
He improved with prestigious organists of international renown, in particular with Jean Guillou (Villasanta, Padua), Jean-Baptiste Monnot, (Rouen 2017-2018-2019-2021, Bergamo 2020), Daniel Roth (Bergamo), Ben Van Oosten (Bergamo), Simone Vebber (Merano), Yanka Hekimova (Villasanta), Olivier Latry (Bergamo), Ludgher Lohmann (Barzio), Francesco Finotti (Bergamo) and Frédéric Desenclos (Bergamo).
As a composer, he is involved in works for organ solo and chamber ensembles as well as in transcriptions, and his interests also lead him to the field of organ design, following the construction of new instruments.
