Watch Dogs Legion: On the Value of Death

Denial is one hell of a drug. Though each on of us is aware that our lives will one day come to an end, we often choose to push that reality aside in order to substitute the much more comfortable belief that that day will never come. But what if it actually never came? Our lives would continue indefinitely; the cold hard truth of death replaced with the uncaring expanse of time itself, forging onward regardless of our wishes. This is arguably one of life’s biggest questions, and one that we have yet to fully answer without having experienced such a possibility ourselves. Watch Dogs: Legion poses exactly this question, but with a bit of a twist. As featured in the game, Skye Larsen’s “Project Daybreak“ presents itself as a paradise free from suffering, but is in actuality a digital repository of sabotaged consciousnesses.
