In this episode I discuss the first of two elections held in 1974, which produced the first hung parliament the UK had seen since 1929. Heath called the election during a time of crisis, asking the country to decide ’Who Governs Britain?’ and they responded by removing him from Downing Street for the final time. What exactly happened and why? I attempt to answer these questions in this video, which would be ideal revision for an A-Level Politics student or for anyone with an interest in UK politics and history.
