Quick Spray (1964)

Park Royal, London. An entertaining story about how you can have your car sprayed to match your dress. Various shots as a blue mini drives down the street, a man and woman get out, she kisses him and enters a room. Various shots as she picks out a sample colour which matches her dress fabric. Various shots as they prepare the mini to be sprayed by taping up the lights. We see the men mixing paint to match the sample, the mini is wheeled into a room, men put masks on and spray. The narrator says this is cheaper and faster than the old style re-spray, and that car paint and nail polish are the same stuff. We see the woman having her nails painted, her husband comes back and sees the car which is now pink to match his wife’s dress, she shows him how everything matches but he walks off. She drives past the bus stop where he is waiting and waves at him, he hides behind his newspaper. Note: Very sexist commentary! The process is known as the Haydon Auto Paint
