VILDMARKSVÄGEN: A STUNNING roadtrip on Swedens famous WILDERNESS ROAD // EPS 18

A 500 kilometer road-trip straight to the heart of the Swedish wilderness: Join the journey to the Vildmarksvägen. The Wilderness Road will take you to beautiful waterfalls, to lakes mirroring the sky and to Sami dwellings. Enjoy the wildlife of this northern part of Jämtland and Lapland. The journey kicked off in the town Vilhelmina - the Vildmarksvägen starts here and is a 500 kilometer round trip to the town Strömsund. We turned off to Saxnäs and the first one and a half hours we enjoyed the sun rising above beautiful lakes along the roadside. The first big stop was at the waterfall Trappstegsforsen - which is called the most beautiful waterfall of Sweden! Would we do the journey on Vildmarksvägen again, we would have a clear winner for staying the night at: At the sami dwelling Fatmomakke. I finally got to taste ripe cloudberries and the best waffles in the cafe of Fatmomakke before exploring it’s old Kyrkstad with typical Sami huts along lake Kultsj
