Vehicle Assembly Building - epic hangar for epic missions

The Vehicle Assembly Building or VAB is a large building at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, designed to assemble large space vehicles, firstly, the Saturn V Moon rocket and after, the Space Shuttle. The vertical concept of assembly directly influenced the design of the building. In fact, it is a giant hangar capable of holding four Saturn V. With a height of 160 m (526 ft) and huge empty space from floor to ceiling it is one of the largest buildings in the world by volume. Now, when Saturns and Shuttles are retired, the VAB is still very active, being used for the new heavy Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. Thanks for watching!
